I’m helping a relative plan a roof replacement, and we’ve been shocked at how wide the price ranges are between contractors for what seems like the same scope of work. Same square footage, similar shingle type, underlayment, flashing, and ventilation yet one bid comes in way higher than the others.
It makes you wonder what’s driving those gaps labor markets, warranty differences, material brands, or maybe how detailed the takeoff was in the first place.
